Isolation vs Spam
Bit of a shame with the world in a state of flux that instead of giving up on it the ones sent home seem to have even more of an excuse to spend longer hours joining forums and link dropping!
Anyone noted increase in figures for last month?

Re: Isolation vs Spam
Yea, but also many forum admins and moderators, as well as many "spam hunters" are at home , and spending more hours monitoring, removing, blocking spam. so it is about the same....I have not noticed any increase in spam.

Re: Isolation vs Spam
Spam was down for a little bit, then it really picked up in the last few days vigorously! Gotta keep one step ahead of those spammers! LOL!

Re: Isolation vs Spam
Be interesting to see what sort of levels change now.
With one of the primary country sources on shutdown for the next 21 days. Only those outside the dodgy call centres/Link posting farms will still be able to.

Re: Isolation vs Spam
Would love for some hard factual data. But they all seem to only use the common AV suite or mail server stats and report email related to covid subject/content itself. Something that is able to be captured and analysed.
No real way to capture the amount/source of paid link-droppers that are out there en-mass either as humans, or using the XRumer tools due to the nature other than keeping an eye on things realtime or looking at blocked data from the likes of zbblock.
(Which is what I tend to do in spare time with hopeless admins that refuse to lock the ship up tight enough for it to not happen. Forum spam in itself is next to nil. But lots of accounts dropping URLs in account)
Obviously there are tools like woorank and alexa which can check specific domains/pages for traffic visit/follow data (which is what they use for showing off how 'effective' their blackhat SEO is to their customers) Be nice if it was possible to produce a global map report of the origins.
Which, oddly in order of country of the cases I've seen seems to lack Russia like the statistical data here but more reflected as India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Spain, rest of europe.
