Following my battle against spammers (one that i winning might i add )

Ive cam across this mod unique_registration_hash_0.1.0 for phpbb  now if theres only one mod a forum owner can install then this shold be the one to install....

What it does is it changes the register link so the agree bit gets hashed by using the visitor IP address so the register link is unique to the user /profile.php?mode=register&agreed=d2489b5d28db5382017e01e730f0a020

there by stopping all auto bots that look for the default register link that google so lovingly supplies  

any bot that lands on the old style link just gets redirected back to the register page

So this will stop bots but not humans ..... but since installing it spam bots 0 the forum 1000   
and it only takes a few mins to install so what you waiting for beat that spam

It makes sense, the achilles heel I think of most free forum software is the registration page is all coded the same, making it easier to write a script that searches and fills out registration forms.
