Are you using CloudFlare? Please read!

Please read this post if you have a site using the CloudFlare network.

Without reading all of the CloudFlare information, you will end up with an issue where your site will only ever see the CloudFlare servers and not the real IP address of your visitors.  This will cause two problems

1. You won't be able to use the IP address to check against StopForumSpam
2. If you submit a spammer and provide the CloudFlare proxy server, then you face having your submissions removed and your account banned for submitting invalid data

CloudFlare provide considerable information about how to use their network correctly.  They cannot provide the correct information to your site automatically and you do have to make changes to your site in order to have it work correctly.

Please read the information provided at CloudFlare by visiting their site

https://support.cloudflare.com/forums/2 … erver-logs

They provide tools for web servers so that the correct IP is provided in a more transparent manner

If you are using a free forum provider where you have no access to the source code or the server configuration, then do not use StopForumSpam for checking IP addresses and do not submit spammers
