Statistical suggestion, what forum?

I think it would be great if when you submitted spammers to the database you could also choose what forum system it is you are using then on the statistical page show which forum systems get the most spam...

Re: Statistical suggestion, what forum?

Beyond that, I'd like a "spamheat" map that would place 65536 addresses in a pixel, so a map of 256 X 256 could be generated by the database. Each pixel getting brighter based on a log curve fit to max score per 65536 IPs.

If one were to multiply by 3 the dimensions so it was 768 X 768, the pixels would be large enough to click on, and "zoom" the 65536 addresses into a single address map of the same size. Of course, mouseover would show address IP, and on the larger map, it would show the first 2 parts of the quadot for that pixel.

This would be handy, because identifying bad IP blocks, and doing rangeblocks on them is alot faster (IMHO) than doing individuals. (First check ranges, then check IPs not covered by ranges).

This of course is beyond my programming ability at this time, and would require someone comfortable with images maps, and processes that need to run daily on the server to comb the database, and generate the maps.

Zap smile

P.S. Color could be used to signify age of last activity too, red for recent, blue for old. (This of course doesn't fit the science of color, but better for human perception.)

Edit:
On second thought, forget that, it would take 4.3 GB to just generate a flat file with one byte per address to map a simple score (0-255). And even that, well, the combing and generating should be a once a month thing, and then probably 7zipped and offered for download somewhere. (Should compress real good due to most addresses out there having a score of 0 for many many of them).

Perhaps score should be a 0-15 (log), and other information should be contained in the other 4 bits ( new? couple of bits for the 3 levels this forum displays? and one other bit for gosh knows what?)

Oh well, pipe dream.
