Small Site with 4 spam members.

We are a small site.  No new members in months and months, just a small group who chat.  Then today I come in and there are 4 new members.  I'm assuming they are spammers.  They are all from yesey.net.  But if they were spamming they haven't left any details.  Just opened member profiles and have no links or anything.  I will ban them or delete them but was curious why go to all the trouble if there's nothing in their profiles other than user names.

If they are spammers, chances are they'll be back later to put the links in their profiles.  It's called "silent spamming".

I have fielded many attempts to register from yesey.net

I ran "whois" and found the domain seemed to have only a 24 hr. registration, something I had not thought available.

Further investigation found yesey hosted (at least for that day) on a dutch server offering about 50 varieties of porn on its "legitimate" sites.

I have not been curious enough to investigate further attemts but their pattern is clear enough.

I've seen a bunch of 'em on several forums... anything with 'yesey.net' for an e-mail is a spammer; nail 'em up.  You don't have to worry at all about them being a real person.  They've been spamming since well before this recent wave of crud in early October.

Looking at the WHOIS, they've already been booted off of 8 other hosts over the last 2 years alone.  Most hosting services get kinda shirty if one of their IP addresses makes it into a blacklist due to spammers.

No big surprise that he's Russian. <rolls eyes>
