How do unauthorised 'guests' manage to post?

Is it something I haven't remembered to do, or are the spammers getting more clever?   My forum is www.interfaithmarriage.org.uk/forum,  a website for people in mixed relationships and I think the word 'marriage' may have attracted some of these posters!

However, my installation is up to date and members are now meant to have their accounts activated by the administrators before they can post.  Yet a few have managed to get through the system and to post as 'guests' - typically porn or selling something. Two today were

isp 84.19.188.30     calls self MOODAWDOSSY

isp 203.247.156.16    calls self DUWDSKS   this one is porn.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Any suggestions about what I can do?

I'm not sure what your board is powered by. I did click on your link and got a 404 error.

In my admin CP. I have another place that I had to change. Beyond accounts having to be activated by the administrators

- Force guests to log in before allowing access to the board?

Thanks for reply.  It seems I had wrongly clicked on one of the sections and allowed the public rather than just members to post.  I've reviewed that, so shall wait and see if it works properly now.

I think I am also targetted by spambots, and will have to learn more about them.

I'm not sure what your board is powered by. I did click on your link and got a 404 error.

There is ',' behind the link that triggers the 404. removing it will give the forum.
