Help PLEASE!

I'm getting like 3 spammers a day now.  I run an SMF (Simple Machines Forum) www.simnational.com/forum ... how do I install the downloads offered here and will they help to stop spammers?!?

Okay, phewww.  Deep breath.  Can someone please let me know if the downloads available on the main page will help with curbing or stopping spam on an SMF forum.  If so, which, and how do I install please?

I run SMF v1.1.10 and the "Extreme6" Theme by Fussilet.
