Careful: LARGE uptick in spammer registrations, VERY FEW spam posts
I'm getting very few spam posts on my honeypots right now but a very large uptick in spammer registrations across the honeypots (last 48 hrs.)
Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Mostly china and romania, about a 10th from colorcrossing servers.
EDIT: Wanted to validate my findings
From my records:
2016-01-12 1663
2016-01-13 1860
2016-01-14 2054
Previous to this, I was mostly getting just spam posts, not new registrants. If you figure 1663 as the new "uptick" starting point, as the previous day was 198, that's a (1663/198= 8.41) ~ 8.5 times increase.

Dupe of https://www.stopforumspam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7031. Probably bot. The 2016 dates gave this one away pretty immediately.

If you guys have a shadowban function, maybe they'd add the link later while keeping the post hidden from the peoples?

Re: Careful: LARGE uptick in spammer registrations, VERY FEW spam posts
Just weighing in to add I'm seeing the same thing on my phpBB site. 4-5 constant xrumer bots are attempting regs nearly 24/7 for the past few weeks. Despite only 1 spam post in the past month, I've had to go to admin activation on regs for the time being, just to reduce the clicks needed to banreport. Logged into SFS, because I'm frankly surprised so many IP/ID's are making through SFS checks. Cheers!
