Hi Everyone

I just wanted to mention that one of my members discovered your site a day or so ago and it sure did solve some unanswered questions that were cropping up. In the past week or so we've had about 7-8 new "members" register..After getting that many in one week it kind of made me suspicious because I just figured it was a "rival" board coming to do their "board war" thing. (It's happened before but not at this new message board) Anyways what I did was to just make it so that their account has to be activated before they can post and I just never activate them. I had been deleting the spam accounts but found that they just come back and re-register so I leave the accounts there and I've set up in admin that everyone is only allowed to register twice with the same IP address. There are several other "blocking" techniques but so far these have worked pretty good.

BTW, I am using mybb.

Welcome to the group, glad you found us and hope you find info here useful.

Lots of people here to offer help with several ways of modding to prevent spambots hitting your site.

I've never been to NY but I'm sure it's humid. I love our heat. :-) It helps when you have a pool. ;-)

Well I was to Buffalo once when I was a kid but that was it.
