bot signups on my blog

In the last 2 days, I have been inundated with over 100 blog signups.  I have randomly checked the search tools provided with some of the email addresses and so far it comes up empty.  I have a complete list of signups.  Is there a way to import the entire list or must I input the data one at a time.  I am using MailChimp, if that makes a difference.  I am not really tech savvy. I just want to get this activity to stop.  Thanks.

Re: bot signups on my blog

Hi onefortheroad, and welcome to SFS.

Do you have:-

  • Username

  • Email Address

  • IP Address

  • Evidence of spam

...for each signup?

If you are missing any of the first 3, then you can NOT report any of the signups to SFS.

If none have posted spam then you also can NOT report any to SFS (breaking these rules gets you banned from SFS).

You need an API key to report spammers to SFS. You do NOT need an API key to search for spammers using the API.

Find a Mod to integrate SFS checks on new signups. Not doing that is not really an option in the current climate.

Re: bot signups on my blog

It also depends on what the blog software is,  this might help http://www.funcaptcha.co/
Also ZBBLOCK http://www.spambotsecurity.com/
Unless you add on some sort of mod, as mentioned by Alex,

I have randomly checked the search tools provided with some of the email addresses and so far it comes up empty.............. must I input the data one at a time

Even a plugin or a mod, it will automaticly check, to see if  a e-mail address, IP or username is listed, if they are listed, they can not register, however if they are not listed "comes up empty", this is something you have to do manually, you decide weather or not to activate the registration, I guess, I am not really familiar with "blogs" and blog sofware,... though
There are some mods and plugins listed here:
