Smurf_Minions wrote a spambot detector in PHP using the API. The source is included as well.

Josh Rice has released a new version of the Anti-Spam ACP mod for phpBB2 that includes integration with this site.
Josh is not the original author of the Anti-Spam ACP mod, but he has recently taken over development over it. I'm mirroring the download here with his permission.
My phpBB forum scanner script is a good alternative to modifying your forum software, if you are unable to or don't want to. It runs separately, either as a cron job at a regular interval or manually. It will log everything it finds, and optionally remove accounts confirmed as spambots.
