Re: Stop forum spam extension in phpBB 3.2 results in error...
I'll chip in a little extra. In the absence of shell access you can construct a small temp PHP file to give you the results from checks that you need to make (and would otherwise use a terminal to obtain). Obviously check your logs first to try to get a sensible error. Then go to a temporary PHP file to check out. Just put up the result/errors in the web-page. Make sure that you delete it afterwards.
(someone else with knowledge of the plugin will need to respond with any code)
(though a good plugin author should also have made something similar)

I sent a PM to pedigree re: your API key request. I also removed that text since it included your site URL.
Try to be exceptionally careful NOT to include your site URL in a post in a public-facing forum, else you end up in the SFS database. Indeed, even if you include it within non-public facing forums you are still likely to get put in the SFS DB.
