Removal Request: Corporate IP Added to List

Hello,

Submitted a request via the form, but would like to follow-up here too.  (I do not have PM rights to message Pedigree directly.)             

A primary IP address for a large company was added to your spam list on October 5th, 2021.  This IP address is used for critical business applications and outbound user web traffic.

We request this IP address be removed as it has resulted in blacklisting by corporate services which leverage your feed(s) for IP-based block rules.

We conducted the following security reviews and beyond:

-Identified the user associated with the email listed.
-Reviewed web history for potential forum use.
-Queried network logs for possible outbound SMTP traffic.

Root cause is still unclear to us for the  addition of our IP.

Please share additional context and advise on removing this IP address from your service(s)?

If it's a valid spam report it likely won't be removed. If not valid it'll get removed. You'll probably have to post it here since you can't PM I'm not sure on that one.

Hi NeoFox,

Thanks for the clarity and guidance.  Couple questions:
-Have you encountered this scenario before with large corporations?
-Can we enable my PM privileges so I can message the specific details?

The IP address is too sensitive to list in a comment and also tied to 10000+ potential user sessions.  We would like to partner in the security review and education with our users.

But, we have limited context and also need to address the business disruption this is causing.

Have you looked up the IP here in the database yourself then? Do the reports look valid? https://www.stopforumspam.com/search

There is one report without an evidence leak - I suspect it’s due to an automated process or invalid.  (No reference to the submitter or forum, so it’s tough to investigate further.)

It could be difficult to regulate the content of users’ posts to technical forums, though we have more options to investigate and educate after the fact.
