Thanks all, its always great to read the nice comments for once... Unlike the abuse I had from a guy today, from his work email address, an email address for a huge Canadian federal organisation.

Thank you to stop forum spam. Apparently IPBoard's premium spam monitoring service is not enough. Is there an email which I can set to automatically mail across every single spam registration? I've been going since 2010 with the forums and it's a safe place - no unfair or troll bans. Just lots and lots of spammers being blocked!! Bye bye trainers, Russian dolls, and the rest of that spam...

Well I just donated £10 after writing that and allowed my site to be reported from and is public on contributors. Keep up the good work everyone! If there's anything I can help with let me know. I enjoy helping out awesome organisations like this.

Thank you for this service.

On a new Joomla site with Kunena Forums, this service in combination with the Securitycheck Joomla extension has cut daily spam to ZERO.

One happy admin.

thanks for stopforumspam mods in phpbb, as before I use google recaptcha but sometime bots can bypass this so now I install stopforumspam index of spammers then things went back to normal in my forum again. very useful in fighting spam.

Combined with reCaptcha, this service has stopped all spammer attempts on my forum cold.

We have been passed here by Spam-O-Matic, we have just been going through their recommendations. We have now added the API and I hope it works - we are taking mass amounts of spam at the min, our forum [removed] if you could take a look if you have free time as any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, just to say that I verify every new signup in my forum against the IP spammers base of this site. I like to do it manually because some countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and such have a lot of ISPs that share same IP among several users at the same time, so blocking an IP automatically in that case would hit both spammers and innocent users. But for all of you who have a forum and battling with spammers, tehre's quite an easy way to almost completely kill any bot signup.

You just need to "break" standard signup procedure a bit.

I run IP.Board and have introduced question-answer challenge. But don't go for math, bots can solve it. I have set of questions asking for names of capital cities of less known countries. Made wonders...

My Forum is been blocking 20 spammers for the last month im very thankful for this.

It help a lot and i really wouldnt mind for a donation for a Great Job well done.

I don't think I've said thank you yet, so thank you for this great service! Thanks to you, I've been able to confirm a lot of suspicious registrations at one site, and block a lot of spammer registrations at another site.

first thanks to the great drupal modul "spambot" now protecting my site for spam registrations.

allready registred for api key to submit the data from my site.

thanks a lot!!! I save 1 hour more free timer per day with this drupal module for stopping spam registrations.

I gather you're still having server issues?

It's when the server is down that I realize just how much we depend on the SFS service... 4 forums and I woke up to a ton of spam registrations again this morning.

Ped is doing his best. He keeps sticking new memory sticks in the server & re-configuring (and your donation helps heaps with that sort of thing - many thanks). He is handling astonishing traffic with what is, in truth, very modest hardware.

One more vote of thanks for the site.

I am looking after a low traffic site and we only have a few registrations a week but it still is really useful to be able to check them and just doing a google search on suspect user emails has repeatedly lead me to this site.

Thanks I missed dexters post for som reason.

I was but the fix might cause longer term issues (HHVM leaking memory like a 1918 cruise liner). I have to restart the HHVM every 5 days but I do it running on a test box without memory issues but as with all great plans, something else now causes another problem. That is what I will be working on tonight.

We installed the vBulletin SFS plugin about 3 years ago: "...175,910 total log entries..."

Minus actual members and those ridiculous (XRoomer)sub-5 second multiple attempts... probably at least 170,000 unique rejects.

We would be absolutely BURIED if not for you guys...

Great that you shared this since I will definitely check the other application out as well I absolutely love what Stop Forum Spam is doing here. I haven't had any spam so far (my website is still locked), but I feel so much more confident with this is a back-up. Big yay for you guys, and keep up the amazing work

Hello I am new here and I want to say THANKS for this great software! I am new with my forum but as soon as I put forum up and it got registered in Google I could not sleep! Every morning I would wake up and spam on my blog part of the vbulletin! Now with your help it is first morning that I wake up and I dont have to clean up my forum! I was thinking if I should give up on forum as it takes time to keep it up just because of spammers. Love you guys <3 and keep up excellent work!
