Haven't caught this many spammers since I added the AddOn for our forum that checks here first.
Since Oct. 30th at 11:09PM (23:09) we now got; 344 spammers that didn't get through.

If I didn't install this we Admins sure have had to work harder

I love you stopforumspam.com ! For a couple years, I've been googling usernames and emails of suspicious user accounts, and this site has always been first to help. I've installed Spambot in my Drupal site and got an API key too so I can maybe help a teeny bit.

This has always been my first and usually only place to check when a new person in my forum registers. So easy... click bookmark to Stop Forum Spam, paste in IP or email... bingo! Works like a charm!!!!

I just join this forum tonight and noticed this...

We just installed the .php script in our phpbb forum, as we've been getting 10-20 nuisance registrations per day.

Within 10 minutes of installing it, it blocked one!

We've been fighting this for 6 months.

I have used so many ways to stop spam from server level firewalls to many other project, but I found stop forum spam most effective. I have been using it from last 2 - 3 days and its pretty useful , so I decided to register and say thanks as well get API key to contribute back to the database I encounter more spammers.

My forum isn't mine, and I'm just a mod there. I use this program - Forum Spam List Checker. Paste in a username, email address, IP and it searches here (SFS) and a handful of other places as well. It's a great program, written by - Gunner.

Although I'm a regular here, I figured it's way past time for me to post a big THANKS here as well.

SFS has been a Godsend for keeping scumbag spammers off the forum I help run.  Last I checked, I have 1,750 banned spammers, the vast majority of which were insta-banned thanks to SFS.  The few that that weren't and did manage to post spam, get submitted here.

Prior to installing ZB Block, I was seeing 2-3 blocked registrations per day.  Imagine the mess and workload of cleaning up all those messes if SFS wasn't around.

So, from a regular, thanks to Ped and crew for making my life as a forum admin easier!

Another big thank you from me. I installed ZBBlock/StopForumSpam on Nov 27th and so far 367 bots/spammers have banned themselves from my site and 2464 individual hits have been blocked.

I added SFS support to my phpBB forum two weeks ago.
SFS has stopped more than 8000 bots registrations so far.

Spam was plaguing my forum to a point where it was becoming a threat for the future of my website, SFS has solved that (in conjunction with Akismet, for those who make it through).

I added the script to my forum registration on Dec 11 and in barely over 3 weeks, it has blocked 422 spammers!

My site visitor numbers are growing everyday and so are the number of spam sign ups.
Stop Forum Spam has stopped hundreds of spam sign ups so far and I can't thank you enough.
I have now registered and got my API so I can contribute to the list and help other users.

I forum I had admin'd before the community died and moved onto a different site, was overrun with spam so bad that members stopped visiting. I came back after being offline for a few months and told them I could help them with their spam problem. After installing a mod by Snoopy called "Stop Spammer"  all the spam stopped and no more spam posts. However because it wasn't taken care of earlier (I wasn't admin until I told them I could fix their problem) their community did die but they now know how well the mod works.  I have suggested the mods that use SFS to many and they have all been happy. People feel overwhelmed when spam gets out of control on their sites. They are all grateful now to SFS.

I'm running a phpBB3 forum for the french firm I'm in. I've been using StopForumSpam for the last six months for possible spam that's not from Russia, Ukraine, Poland or China (Whois).

Thanks a lot! It's great for the spammers from the Netherlands, the UK or France I couldn't be sure of before, or even those using vpn networks to appear to come from Europe.

I've haven't put an automated plug-in in place yet either.
