Drop in spammers
I have had quite a drop in the number of spam bots I have been getting lately, on this site:
Rocky and Parrots
In January , I was getting over 100 a day, lately it has only been about 50 per day, or even less. I guess they have gotten bored with the site.
On the other : For the Birds it has dropped to
10 - 15 per day.
I know , most people don't like to have any spam, but I like to see that the bots visit my sites, the more activity the better.

Re: Drop in spammers
I think they ebb and flow... might depend on which group has bots running at any given time. I've seen an uptick in suspicious and blocked registrations on my forum recently, and in March I've had 4 submissions so far, more than in February (1) or January (3).
Very few reach the point of actually spamming my forum, so my submissions are sparse, but they don't stop trying. I'd hate to think how bad it would be if I had no countermeasures in place.
Is your 50-100 spammers per day registration attempts or actual spam/links put up?

Spam happens when greed meets stupidity.

Re: Drop in spammers
They are bots, I suppose I should have been more clear, I am going to edit the first post.
Agreed, they seem to "ebb and flow".
