dnsbl.tornevall.org

Hi guys, is dnsbl.tornevall.org still running and being populated with SFS data? We used to query that DNSBL rather than using the SFS API but it doesn't seem to return SFS results these days. Any ideas?
Many thanks!

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

This is what I see at the site:

This site is currently rebuilding. Read here about it!
          =============================================================================
                                                                            Our apologies
                                                     ---------------------------------------------------------------
It's a bit messy here right now, and has been since december 2015 - when our primary server died in a power failure. The server we're using is a highly temporary solution, while we're waiting to move out to a better place.

So, to answer your question: We're still alive - we're just reorganizing.

Take a look at the link above, to get more information.

The DNS Blacklist
Yes, it's still there. However, we're working on moving everything to the same domain, since SSL certificates cost. Having more than one wildcard certificate is way too inefficient - and that's why dnsbl.tornevall.org has been removed.

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

Yes, me too, but I wanted a definitive answer from SFS as to whether they are still updating their data to the DNSBL .

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

I'm sending the data to them but they can't accept it as fast as I can send it .  I've just checked the script that is sending and it was hanging so I'm trying to find out why/how and have restarted it.

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

I cannot get data submitted so until they can accept data then I'm not able to send anything

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

Thank you, appreciate the reply. I will have to try a different solution I think, and stop using the DNSBL to query SFS . Perhaps I need to start to use the API
Thanks again!

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

IPv4 is working, eg a query for 86.105.52.48

# nslookup -query=A 48.52.105.86.i.api.stopforumspam.org 127.0.0.1
Server:         127.0.0.1
Address:        127.0.0.1#53

Name:   48.52.105.86.i.api.stopforumspam.org
Address: 127.255.49.64

127 = listed
255 = times seen up to 255 times
49 = days since last seen up to 255 days
64 = confidence score

NXDOMAIN for an unlisted record

60 seconds DNS TTL on responses.

I just need to plug it into a DNS server.

username and email addresses will have to be base36 (or base32) encoded or md5 hashed I'm afraid.  Its the only way to ensure that I can return a NXDOMAIN when a record doesn't exist

Are you interested in the new API I'm working on? It will support bulk-sending through POST-data, so you may be able to send all the data at once, or at least ...in bulks.

I'm ready to release everything in hopefully just a few days.

http://tracker.tornevall.net/secure/Das … geId=10601

There will also be a API browser that shows up what you actually can do with the API here:

https://api-dev.tornevall.net/2.0/endpo … hods/dnsbl

Note, the dev-site is always the develop release, so everything that is put into production will be at api.tornevall.net

I'll try go keep you updated in this, because this may be a groundbreaking change of the DNSBL structure since.... well.. at least 2006.

Oh, by the way - I'm preparing for an extra task to keep SFS data in sync:

Re: dnsbl.tornevall.org

Version 5.0 data tables just released, so tables now includes data from FraudBL.

The first API-documentation is currently located at this landing page

It's currently working quite fine, so there's only documentation of how it works left to fix.

post_max_size is set to 200M and max_input_vars to 1000000, so it should hopefully be enough for larger bulk transfers too smile
