How does stopforumspam work with kunena forum?
Hi,
I have a joomla website and im using the kunena forum plugin - i have pasted the API key into the relevant field within the plugin but i cannot see any form of protection on the form (there's no visible captcha). How does stopforumspam work as its not clear from the documentation...

Hi,
The SFS API doesn't, normally, show any protection.
Whatever your plugin is, it compares user provided informations (email, IP address) by your registering user against the SFS database and in return indicates if one or more of these information is/are known as to be a potential spammer.
The username can also be checked, but it's a bad idea, because usernames are not unique ...
The API key is not needed to check the database, it's purpose is to authenticate your site when you submit a potential spammer.

Anyhow, in the settings for the plugin there is a box to type in the number of 'hits' from the SFS database you want to use as a minimum confidence level for rejecting the attempt.
Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, .... But hey! Who cares.
