University Admission Spam?

Recently I've seen a few registrations starting with spambots spamming for universities. The spam has gotten more intentense

An interesting thing about the above Spambot is that it tried to make eight seperate threads in the "Site Announcements" section of my site.

Has anyone else observed similar spam attempts on their sites over the past few days?
