phpBB 3.1 Extension
For those using phpBB, V3.1 is nearing and is presently at Release Candidate 3.
One of the major changes is that modifications to the core code have been replaced with "extensions" that are somewhat easier to manage, but harder to develop.
The current Anti Spam ACP (which enables Stop Forum Spam) will not work with V3.1.
The phpBB group has a forum to request extensions. I posted a request for the Ant Spam ACP to be converted to an extension on August 17th, but it looks like I am a lone wolf on this. I think this is the only extension request of 45 or so that does not have any other support.
It would behoove anyone running phpBB to visit this topic https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=496&t=2257886 and put in an additional request for the extension.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
That's the main thing keeping me away from phpbb3.
Trying to install those mods and the million files I would have to edit and keep "just right."
It's good software though as a baseline.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
I'll get a copy on phpBB and get it ported for you. Shortly, we are going to start supporting official plugins for forums and keep them maintained

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Unless this release of phpBB is junked up with AJAX (which limits compatibility, and violates many aspects of HTTP_POST, such as not percent escaping reserved characters), ZB Block should continue to work as usual.
So the question is, will the core be remaining clean php/html?
If so, then my users can rest without worry of the upgrade.
Thanks for any data you can share.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
I don't really know that much about the Core Code because I haven't had to get into it in this version.
I did a search for ajax in the development forums and it looks like everything refers to ajax in the extension.
Suggest you take a spin in the forums here: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=446
The developers check in there and there is a lot better guidance than I could ever give you.
Thanks,
Rick

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Any progress on this yet.
The production release of 3.1.0 is out and it has been replaced with 3.1.1.
Would love to be able to continue using this.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Yes please. The availability of an upgraded version of the Anti Spam add on will be one of the factors holding me up in upgrading to the new version of phpBB.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
I've installed phpbb 3.1 and will start working on the conversion of acp from 3.0 to 3.1. I'm not a sure phpbb coder so its going to be a learning curve here.

Tapatalk will be starting the development of this so that those sites using Tapatalk will know that the plugin wont interfere with your mobile device users.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
FYI, I already have the tapatalk plugin running on a 3.1 test board. Appears to be working OK, but haven't given it a big shakedown.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Thats the Tapatalk interface for phpBB 3.1. The new code will be the stopforumspam interface for phpbb 3,1 but will work with Tapatalk properly. Lots of plugins interfere and I dont want that happening as I dont want people to think "Its either Tapatalk or StopForumSpam"

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Hi guys,
is the stopforumspam extension for phpBB 3.1 included in the tapatalk version 1.0.2?
Or will the tapatalk team provide it as a new extension? I didn't found any stopforumspam extension for phpBB 3.1 so far...
Thanks

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
I don't use a stopforumspam extension in phpBB V 3.1.* I use the ZBblock script.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
Just to update, pedigree and I are in discussions concerning the extension (which by the way is only for phpBB version 3.1.4-RC1 and greater as it won't work on lesser versions). Once we take off the gloves, , and come to a consensus I am sure this topic will be updated by him/her and/or myself.

Re: phpBB 3.1 Extension
phpBB 3.1.4 is out which is a requirement of the extension. The extension should be packaged and zipped per the phpBB guidelines and submitted to the phpBB extension database for validation.
