A new bug when deleting spammers
We have a SMF with Stop Spammer mod v2.3 that had been working fine for six months.
But when we tried to delete a spammer that had been red-flagged, it somehow turned all other members to 'unchecked' blocking everyone out in the process, including the admin. We've had to reset the admin account in the db, log in and approve all the existing members to restore the forum.
This has happened twice in two days and we are thinking of unplugging this mod. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Can anyone suggest a cure?

Ive not played with SMF mod but if you think its the mod causing the issues, you should try to contact the author quickly

Re: A new bug when deleting spammers
Thanks. I think it's definitely the mod. I've posted a messsage on SMF's forum under the author's thread and found someone else who seems to be having the same problem. So far no solution...

Re: A new bug when deleting spammers
It's quite possibly a bug in the mod that only appears when the SFS site is offline. Since they're mostly up, that'd make it a real bear to duplicate.
Can't be anything here causing it 'cos they're merely giving a YES/NO type of response to a string test, and that wouldn't modify your forum database. Only a bug in the mod (or elsewhere in the forum code) could do that.

Hi, Tamsin,
I have the same Mod on SMF and the same thing occured to my forum on Thursday the 5th Feb (GMT+10) while SFS was down. I can't help you with the cause but it is interesting that this happened during the time that SFS was off line. I am loathe to remove the Mod as it has worked so well up to now and save me a heap of time in checking things manually.
At least, if it happens again I know what to do to fix it ...I now know more about MySQL than I did before (which was Zero) so all was not lost!
