Sorry about the downtime
The most useless, annoying, proud and self-policing pratts (in my opinion) GoDaddy, completed deleted our DNS settings, taking everything down with them.
In my personal opinion, Bob Parsons should be hung drawn and quartered.

Re: Sorry about the downtime
Was curious, I use Smurf minions script for checking spammers, and it wont connect. is that something that will be resolved sometime down the road?

I cant speak for his script but the DNS servers are propagating now and should have new records shortly.

Re: Sorry about the downtime
With the route errors, I'd presumed you were under a DOS attack by the spammers. Good to see it's just GoDaddy dropping the ball again, and not something more sinister.

Re: Sorry about the downtime
I tried to connect to report about a dozen and a half spammers like 2-3 hours ago without success. Was this the problem?
BTW this has happened before, too. Quite annoying (not blaming you guys of course)

Re: Sorry about the downtime
I too thought it was a DOS attack! Glad to see it was nothing serious and the downtime wasn't longer.
Perhaps adding a couple extra DNS servers not hosted by godaddy would prevent such an issue in the future? I run my own on my server, never cared much for hosting companies clunky web interfaces with limited DNS features.
I wouldn't mind serving DNS for you guys if you would like a little extra redundancy. Just email me if you're interested. Least I can do to give back to the site that helps keep spammers off my forum.

Re: Sorry about the downtime
weve moved the dns completely off godaddy, to the host itself and Ill be adding backup DNS to the the domain as well, provided by a dedicated dns provider.

Good move. I have never trusted GoDaddy.

Just in case you didn't know,
my automated submissions haven't been working for nearly 24 hours now, and I tried to manually submit through the submission URL, and it doesn't seem to be working .
http://www.stopforumspam.com/post.php?username=TienOlitlywen&ip_addr=61.90.150.251&email=difeozipilnxvdowxidaj041@gmail.com&api_key=<my_api_key>manual submissions through the submit page seems to be OK though .
and yes... GoDaddy sux .

Things are *slowly* working themselves out, althought I would be very happy to hear from anything that gets a green/blue 404 error from this site, with an email address of the webmaster of sanjin@suljic.net

Re: Sorry about the downtime
pedigree, it can take up to 3 days (max) for a DNS change to propagate to all of the servers around the world, although most of it happens within the first 6 to 8 hours after a change. Until it's completely propagated to all servers, connection errors can come and go.

My provider still does not have its dns updated. I looked up the IP here: http://www.who.is/dns/stopforumspam.com/ and had to edit the hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc to be able to access sfs, it contains now:

Re: Sorry about the downtime
I was very worried when I couldn't connect. Thought maybe the site was under attack. Imagine the sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when the site you connected to 24hours ago was as Firefox put it :
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.stopforumspam.com
* Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Re: Sorry about the downtime
Whew, what a relief!!!
Like many others, I thought you were under a DOS attack and co-incidentally I was locked out of the forum I administer saying that my account had not been approved. I am using SMF forum prg with a Mod that refers to here for all new members and I was in the process of checking for further details when my forum went down.
It appears that I must have been connected just when the balloon went up and the site went down. It took me 6 hours to get back in but I learnt a lot more about MySQL so it wasn't all bad.
Keep up the good fight!!!

I did the same thing. I flushed my DNS cache first but that didn't work so I edited the hosts file. It took correspondence from the leadership here for me to figure out what was up with the server.

I knew you were working on the API, but I must have missed the part where you were changing from post.php to add.php, I'm still using post.php .
I'll try changing it, and I'll get back to you ![]()

Re: Sorry about the downtime
add.pgp used to post to post.php internally but we had another dns failure one day so I quickly fix it. add.php and post.php have pretty much the same code, and in the new site, will be exactly the same, where you can GET or POST to both but both will remain for legacy reasons.
