SFS Mod roundup

A lot of people write in asking for software that will work with X forum, and unfortunately I haven't kept up with what people have written. So if you wrote one, or just know of one, link it here and I'll update the website. Of course the big requests are phpBB, SMF, vBulletin, IP.Board, etc.

Also any other mods or plugins written to work with any other software would be good too.

http://temerc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=6487

But i dont see: for which version of IPB is this mod?

Re: SFS Mod roundup

If you maintain a current IP.Board licence, there is a built-in "Spam Service".

Re: SFS Mod roundup

diabolic, we will see this script today.

This also is not a decision:
http://temerc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=6487

Two different codes, without explanation for which version of ipb are, with errors, on both is written: "above code" .... smile  I test, but both are non-working.

We will try to make automated script that stop spammers to register and post in ipb 2.xx.

Re: SFS Mod roundup

ZB Block works automatically and requires no intervention by the administrator. He checked in its database and then check the database of the SFS. Spammers and hackers have no chance. smile

I use an old phpbb and more than 2 years I have no spam registration.

Re: SFS Mod roundup

Well, they do have a chance. Like 3 or 4 in the last year got through...

But they all get sent to the lowest depths of StopForumSpam hell when they do.

The rest of my submissions are from checking raw logs for specific bot behavior.

Re: SFS Mod roundup

On all php sites, the answer is probably.

It is compatible with most STOCK forums.

It has some problems with some add-ons/plugins (rare)

It gets into cat-fights with AJAX apps, because AJAX violates so many safety rules (like letting the client script write php code to execute on the server).

It is somewhat pre-disposed as being hostile to known spammer countries.

But otherwise, yes, it is good for most PHP sites. It operates best with phpBB3.

Zap smile

P.S. If you have more questions about it, please ask in the forums on spambotsecurity.com . This site is not a support site for ZB Block.

I

You can use it on html pages too if you add two simple rules in your htaccess file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .html
AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm

Re: SFS Mod roundup

That can be dangerous diabolic, as uncareful leaving of php code in a html page could cause it to execute, when it would normally be safe.

Not all scripts are written to treat html with care, as it's not expected to be dangerous.

But, in the name of reducing junk bandwidth, yeah it helps.

Zap smile

P.S. It would be interesting to know how many admins allow .htm / .html and other pages to be parsed by php also.
